3rd Generation Hood "Riverite"

As a third generation "Hood Riverite", I have had an incredible opportunity to grow up and raise my family where most people would dream to live. After graduation from Hood River High School, I attended Oregon College of Education (now Western Oregon University). After college, I started teaching and coaching in Hood River immediately after graduation. My first teaching assignment was at Hood River Junior High (now HR Middle School). I transferred to Hood River Valley High School in 1978, and stayed there until I retired in 2003, after 32 years of teaching. I loved teaching but I was ready for a change, so, after a few months of retirement, I decided go back to school to become a realtor. I felt some of the skills I had developed over the years could be applied to a real estate career, and after being "retired" for a month or so,it became apparent that I wasn't ready to retire. I passed my real estate exam in November of 2003, and went to work immediately at Windermere/GTRE. I can truthfully say that I enjoy coming to work each day.

Let's go fishing

The secret is out that the Columbia River Gorge is a "mecca" for recreational activities. Windsurfing, skiing, kitesailing, kayaking, bicycling, and hiking bring thousands of people to the area each year. However, my passion is fishing. The Gorge is in the heart of some of the best fishing in the country. It doesn't get much better than being out on the Columbia River in pursuit of those infamous salmon and steelhead as the day breaks. Suddenly Mt. Hood and the rugged mountains of the Gorge appear. Wow!!! What a picture. I love talking real estate aboard my "floating office".
